This is an independent guide to Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse. We built it to put in one place what you need for a visit: tickets and tours, opening times, how to get there and practical rules.

We are not Historic Environment Scotland, which manages Edinburgh Castle, or the Royal Collection Trust, which opens the Palace of Holyroodhouse, and this is not the official website of either. We do not run the sites, and we do not use their logos or images. The names of the castle and the palace are used only to describe them.

The tickets and tours featured here are sold by our partner Tiqets, a third party. We collect opening times and rules from public sources, and we note when we last checked them. They change over the year. If you spot a mistake, write to us and we will fix it.
